The extraordinary architectural design of the Talstation (valley station), unique in the Alpine region and part of the new lift facilities, has caused a stir. The Talstation is enveloped by a semi-transparent façade, which was remarkably decorated during the opening ceremony. Entertaining video messages transmitted by guests of honour, friends and employees of the company were directly projected on this façade. Nearly 1000 guests, who came to the opening ceremony ot the “Golden Jet” with pyrotechnical artists, spectacular artistic presentations at a dizzy height and music from the live band “Egon 7” thought this event to have been indeed both varied and fascinating.

11 Million Euros for More Comfort, Quality and Skiing Fun The company Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen invested altogether approx. 11 million Euros in the new “Golden Jet“. Landeshauptmann-Stv. and Tourismuslandesrat Hermann Schützenhöfer paid tribute to the company Planai-Bahnen as the flagship of the Styrian tourism industry because it had succeeded on its own to come up with such a substantial investment sum. Shorter Lift Times, More Comfort and Top Connection to the Skischaukel The “Golden Jet“ is a powerful lift, which is to replace the two chairlifts „Planai West I and West II“, running with gondolas for 8 passengers and manufactured by Doppelmayr. 87 gondolas will transport 2,408 persons per hour in a record time of only 7 minutes to the Planai – previous lift time: 18 minutes. From the ticket counter area, the guests can use an escalator that will take them effortlessly to the lift access area. There are further service facilities such as ski depots and ski rentals; internet access as well as a lounge for bus drivers, TV and the panoramic weather shelter are all integrated in the Talstation. For the future, a gastronomical area has been planned.
