The special thing about the good old mountain air at nearly 3,000 m altitude is: it keeps you young and fit and gives you a good appetite! Our new restaurant manager, Ms. Gundi Pachernegg at least is convinced. And especially for the last case, she and her highly motivated team are well prepared in the new Dachstein Gletscher Restaurant.
The Gletscher Restaurant is located right next to the mountain station of the Dachstein Cable Railway and offers a fascinating view in all directions. But not only the eye of the guest will be satisfied, but about all the palate. The restaurant offers delicious meals, regional specialities, varied day courses, trendy snacks and “g´schmackige Jausenbrettl” (Austrian delicacies) as well as a salad and a cake buffet.
Only fresh products from the region will be used. Local meals from the Steiermark and new, light recipes for the health-consciousness will be served as well. All meals are prepared fresh on the day.
Every gourmet type at the mountain will get his or her own meal: children, snowboarder and climber, but also people who just came to enjoy the panorama. After the pure mountain air, taking a break in the Glacier Restaurant is a pleasant experience.
A great variety of cakes, pastry and pudding desserts will not make it easy to decide – which “sin” should it be today? Another speciality of Gundi Pachernegg: the traditional “Bauernkrapfen” (type of doughnuts) filled with home-made jam, with a hot cup of coffee or tea as the perfect afternoon snack.
If the weather allows, the BBQ is fired up on the sun terrace, and sun breakfasts, sunsets with fondue and wine tasting sessions are also part of the special highlights at the Dachstein!
The Dachstein is an inspiring place for creative work, developing ideas and get to know people. Seminars and conferences in our conference room – the highest in Austria! – are welcomed and will be taken care of.

News in the area of the base station: From now on guests can shorten the waiting time at the Dachstein-Schirm. Small snacks are also on offer!
