Slope opening times

High quality and safety on ski slopes is what all our guests expect and this matter poses a prerequisite for survival in international competition. In order to guarantee this, Planai Cable Ways, in collaboration with the Planai and Hochwurzen catering hut proprietors, compiled and asserted a Ski-Slope Regulation, which is in effect since the beginning of this season.

What is the perfect skiing day like? Most would say: Beautiful weather, plenty of fun, perfect snow as well as well groomed and safe slopes. Some of these factors are whims of nature and cannot be influenced by the mountain cable ways. The case is quite the opposite with slope security and quality. Planai Cable Ways have made it their aim to uphold and enhance a state of utmost safety and quality during their winter operations. To achieve this, slope preparation must take place as early as possible, and the slope must remain untouched until opened the next day. This calls for unimpaired operating processes with snow grooming machines as well as the increasingly necessary utilization of rope winches. In collaboration with the Planai and Hochwurzen catering hut proprietors, a Ski-Slope Regulation, which includes the current opening times, was compiled in time for the beginning of this season. „The safety of our guests is not guaranteed in cases of slope use beyond official opening times and this poses a perilous threat.“ says Dir. Albert Baier, managing director of Planai Cable Ways. If violations take place, prosecution for damages, and, if necessary, further legal steps shall be instituted. This Ski-Slope Regulation will be enforced from this year on by an external security firm which will patrol Planai and Hochwurzen. Should an après ski party last longer than expected, the Planai catering hut proprietors will organise bus transfers at a very fair price! Ski slope opening times are stated in the Planai brochures and on bill boards across the entire region.

Planai and Hochwurzen daily 8 am - 5 pm
Access to the Planai FIS Ski-Run (3) from 5 pm till 7:30 pm at your own risk
Access to Hochwurzen FIS Ski-Run no 331 (from Seiter Hut no 35) until 7:30 pm at your own risk
Hochwurzen night slope (33) Mon - Sat 7:30 pm till 10 pm
Toboggan run Hochwurzen from Mon - Sat 7:30 pm till 10:30 pm
