Simply cuddle up on the relaxing beach chairs, and enjoy the view of one of the most beautiful beaches in the world – without losing sight of the winter paradise around you! “Planai Beach” is located in the “Lärchkogel” area/chair lift mountain station.

How much difference in altitude can you handle?

Instead of measuring heart frequencies or blood pressures, altitude differences and slope kilometres are measured at the “Ski-ECG” (Electrocardiogram) on the Planai. Every one of Planai and Hochwurzen’s guests can print out his/her completed altitude differences and slope kilometres free-of-charge at the end of the day. 
Additionally, there is an SMS service: just inquire via SMS about your completed altitude difference any time – even in between at lunch – and decide if you want to continue or if you would rather relax and enjoy the magic of the mountain lodges.
 
And this is how the Ski-ECG works:
At the end of the skiing day, the guest enters his/her ski pass number (printed on the front of his/her ticket) into a special terminal (can be found at the Planai valley station or Golden Jet valley station). Within a few seconds, the PC prints out a “Ski ECG” with the accomplished altitude differences, the facilities used, the number of times the guest used the ski lifts, the number of kilometres descended, etc.
Depending on the amount of altitude differences, there are different athletic categories in which the guest is placed: “connoisseur” (up to 5.000 meters), “athletic hobby skier” (5.000 to 10.000 meters) and “pro” (over 10.000 meters per day).

7km Toboggan Run.
The 7km long and fully lit toboggan run increases the fun factor! And of course the ski huts stay open during the night!

Playground Hochwurzen.
On the Hochwurzen you will find the first Playground in the Alps. 300m long and 30m wide especially for snowboarders and skiers to hone their freestyling. Shaped daily. And the best of all : Daily Evening Service until 22.00
